Upload Better ("the Extension") is a browser extension built by Vinson Chang ("the Developer"). We believe your data belongs to you. This policy outlines how the extension handles your information.
1. No Data Collection
The Extension operates as a client-side utility. We do not transmit, collect, or store your personal data on any external servers.
- Clipboard Data: The Extension accesses your clipboard read permission only when you interact with the "Paste" feature. This data is processed transiently in your browser's memory to generate a file object and is never logged or sent to the Developer.
- Browser History & Downloads: The Extension queries your local `chrome.downloads` API solely to populate the "Recent Files" interface. This data stays within your browser instance.
- Local Storage: Preference data (such as "Pinned Files" and theme settings) is stored in your browser's `localStorage`. This data is not synced to the Developer.
2. Third-Party Services
Since the Extension does not collect data, it does not share data with third-party advertising networks, analytics providers, or data brokers.
Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing and using the Upload Better extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please uninstall the Extension.
2. License
The Developer grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install, and use the Extension solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes strictly in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.
3. Disclaimer of Warranty
THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS for A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
The Developer does not warrant that the Extension will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location, or that any errors or defects will be corrected.
4. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the Developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Extension; (ii) any content obtained from the Extension.
